No one better than Tun Musa for governorship – MAJAPS chief

The president of the Council of the Justices of the Peace Sabah (MAJAPS), Datuk Seri Panglima Clarence Bongkos Malakun

PENAMPANG: With more than a decade of experience in spearheading the state’s development, Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Musa Haji Aman’s appointment as the new Head of State of Sabah (TYT) is apt and in line with his immense contributions. There is no better person to take on that esteemed role except Tun Musa who is Sabah’s longest Chief Minister from 2003 till 2018.

Disclosing this, the president of the Council of the Justices of the Peace Sabah (MAJAPS), Datuk Seri Panglima Clarence Bongkos Malakun said Tun Musa’s wisdom and experience made him the perfect choice for governorship.

“I don’t see anyone else more qualified and suitable,” Clarence said matter-of-factly. Tun Musa was sworn in as the 11th TYT by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim ibni Sultan Iskandar at Istana Negara.

He succeeded Tun Haji Juhar Haji Mahiruddin whose 14-year term ended on December 31, 2024.

Clarence added that Sabah had enjoyed progress under the leadership of a man who “hit the ground running” soon after he was made Chief Minister back in 2003. “And, his no-nonsense approach in dealing with state matters is highly commendable,” he said, chastising those who criticised Tun Musa’s appointment as TYT.

Clarence also said those individuals who had expressed unfavourable opinions of Tun Musa must be “living on another planet” if they are oblivious of what he had done for the state when he was at the helm of the state administration. “Tun Musa’s efforts and commitments are certainly deserving of praise. “Remember, he was Chief Minister for 15 years…his wisdom and experience are valuable assets to the state,” he said.

Clarence also expressed confidence that Tun Musa would assist the present administration to bring Sabah to greater heights.
